Lawrence P. Tracey, Jr. has been a member of the Central Connecticut Approved Football Officials since 1970. While he retired from the field in 1998, he has continued his work with that association, lending his expertise and experience to any who want help. A top-notch umpire for the CCAFO, Larry joined the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials' Boston Chapter in 1980, later becoming a charter member of the Connecticut Chapter. During his career for the EAIFO, he worked many top games on the Div. II and III level, until an accident in 1 990 at Middlebury College ended his career. He continues on the high school and collegiate circuits, working as a clock operator for ECAC and later the Big East Conference. He currently is a clock operator at all UConn home games. He continued his work with the CCAFO, chairing or co-chairing its New Members Committee, where he contributed to training many current members of the organization. He estimates he has worked more than 1,000 contests on all levels. He has served as president of the CCAFO (1995), and served or chaired on the Assignments, Rating/Evaluation, Nominating, Better Officiating, Presidents, and Policies and Procedures committees.
